Rejected!
Ah... so THAT's what it is like to have your Visa card rejected when you are at a store on vacation. Will have to investigate further since it worked ok at the rental car place...
Did you tell Visa that you would be in France? I've had mine rejected because of their fraud safeguards. Now I phone them before I leave so overseas charges will go through. Have a good trip DJ!
